Install smoke alarms on every level of your home, inside bedrooms and outside sleeping areas. Test smoke alarms every month. If they’re not working, change the batteries. Talk with all family members about a fire escape plan and practice the plan twice a year. If a fire occurs in your home, GET OUT, STAY OUT and CALL FOR HELP. Never go back inside for anything or anyone.
Loss of consciousness. Markedly constricted or pinpoint pupils. Breathing difficulties (slowed, labored, and/or irregular breathing). Respiratory arrest (completely stopped breathing). Choking, gurgling, or snoring sounds. Blue or purple lips or fingertips. Being unresponsive to loud noises, shaking, or painful stimuli.
Naloxone is a medication approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) designed to rapidly reverse opioid overdose. It is an opioid antagonist—meaning that it binds to opioid receptors and can reverse and block the effects of other opioids, such as heroin, morphine, and oxycodone. On July 7th, 2022, Taborton was dispatched for a mutual aid assignment to Averill Park fire district. On arrival, Averill Park command had a signal 30 fully involved structure fire and requested additional companies. On May 17th, 2022, Taborton took delivery of our newest apparatus, First Response-37. This truck will replace Rescue-37 and is outfitted with a compliment of EMS supplies, seating for five people, and rear back up camera.
In 2016, the Taborton residents saw their TAX dollars working for them. After many years of saving tax dollars, the Fire Commissioners were able to purchase a new piece of apparatus for the Department. Taborton Vol Fire department had a signal 30 structure fire at 640 Taborton Road around 1700HRS. Responding Mutual Aid Fire Depts: Averill Park, West Sand Lake, Hoags Corners, Poestenkill, Wynantskill, Best Luther and Sand Lake Ambulance.
